The Galaxy S series has been running for several years and now it finally launches the S24 Ultra with a titanium finish, a plethora of AI tools, a flat screen, and surely the highest price. After the Samsung S24 Ultra release date was announced fans have been anticipating something remarkable, and well Samsung made it possible. Yesterday, Samsung unveiled its Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24 Ultra, and S24+.

The Design
When unboxing Samsung s24 Ultra the most immediate feature to notice is its build. Here, Samsung adopted a titanium frame that may have been inspired by Apple’s iPhone 15. Samsung claims titanium is used to make the phone durable which may have made the phone heavier.
The S24 Ultra weighs almost equal to the S23 Ulta at 232 grams and is heavier than the iPhone 15 Pro Max.
However, the feature that I admire is changing the curved screen into a flat display, so now it becomes less fragile but wait, there is a slight curve at the edge which makes it different from S24 and S24 Plus as these are completely straight-edged.
Samsung also claims to add more sustainability to its newly featured S24 series with recycled materials which is also demonstrated in its Earth Mineral color theme. So, now Galaxy is all set to provide a better user experience and reduced carbon emissions.
The Galaxy AI
Another notable feature of the phone is its AI features. Samsung has filled the room with all the AI features that we have encountered. Now you can cross the language barriers with Live Translate.
This will allow you to talk to anyone anywhere with two-way real-time voice or text translation, which seems convenient.
Moreover, there is Chat Assist that can help set the conversion tone when you don’t know what to say and how to say it, so Grammarly has lost its job in the S24 series. Moreover, this AI assist does end on text as Android Auto will also summarize the messages and generate replies while driving.
In short, the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra has all local and cloud-based AI features. Galaxy s24 Ultra is running Gemini Foundation Models for all these AI perks.

Long-pressing the navigation handle or home button will circle whatever is on the screen and Google will search for it.
The Camera
Galaxy s24 Ultra has upgraded its rare camera setup with a 50 MP 5x telephoto camera which can magnify to 10x with its Adaptive Pixel Sensor. The image quality is also expected to be improved from the previous S23 Ultra. However, the other three cameras, 200 MP wide, 10 MP telephoto, and 12 MP Ultra-Wide are the same.
S24 and S24+ models have 50MP Wide, 12 MP Ultra-Wide, and 10 MP Telephoto with almost the same AI features that make the pictures more immersive.
The pixel size is also claimed to be 60% larger than previous models with 1.4 μm which makes it better in low light conditions. Optical Image Stabilization is also added to reduce the blur due to handshakes.
The AI Editing Tools
Galaxy S24 Ultra users would not have to rely on third-party video or photo editing tools because there are several built-in ones. Users can now erase, remaster, and re-compose with ease.
Edit Suggestions are also available to suggest suitable altering for every photo along with AI Generative Edit backgrounds that can fill the undesired parts of the pictures. These tools also give the option for adjusting the horizon levels and edge filling so you may not have to crop the image when it’s a tiny bit crooked.
The Display
S24 Ultra has a 6.8-inch QHD+ display while S24 and S24+ have 6.2 and 6.7-inch FHD+ and QHD+ displays respectively. The Corning Gorilla Armor display on a24 Ultra boasts durability.
The display also has 2600 nit peak brightness which improves its visibility when used outdoors due to its Vision Booster tech. It is also made comfortable for viewing and has a 120 Hz refresh rate making it compatible with high-end gaming.
The thin bezel is what attracts me the most in this set because it keeps the screen wide while making it less vulnerable to fall scratches.
The Chipset
Galaxy S24 Ultra has Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset while S24 and S24+ are equipped with 8 Gen 3 in the US but Exynos chipset in other regions around the world. Samsung claims that there will be no compromises on the AI capabilities of the S24 and S24+.
Whether it is gaming, heavy video editing, or using multiple tabs, the Galaxy S24 series can endure it all. Moreover, this phone will be leveled up to WIFI 7.
Our Verdict
While the news is, that the iPhone has finally won the most smartphone sales crown in 2023 beating Android after a decade, we are hoping for big competition in the market after the release of the Samsung S24 Ultra.
The AI capabilities, changes in the design, and sustainability theme are quite impressive. All three models are now available for pre-order but they will be released in the open market past 31 January.
